# About Cactus

Why Cactus exists, what its makers believe, and who builds it.

We're building the help center for the agentic era.

## Shipping got cheap. Explaining didn't.

A release used to be an event. Someone had the afternoon to write it up. Now three people ship like thirty, and the write-up is still one person, one page, one afternoon at a time.

## We've been that team.

- **09:14** The release goes out. Seven commits. One of them moves the export button.
- **09:40** A customer asks support where the export button went.
- **10:05** Support asks engineering. Engineering reads the diff.
- **10:30** The answer lands in a Slack thread. It is a good answer. Nobody will find it again.
- **Thursday** The help page still says the button is under Settings. It will say so for months.

## What we believe.

### The code is the truth.

Everything else is a description of it.

### Show your sources.

An answer that can't say where it came from is a guess.

### Agents are readers now.

They get the same answer a person would.

### Small teams first.

If it takes a technical writer to run, we built the wrong thing.

## Founders.
